Oak of Righteousness

“...They will be called oaks of righteousness,

    a planting of the Lord

for the display of his splendor.” Isaiah 61:3

“ Blessed is the one... whose delight is in the law of the Lord,

and who meditates on his law day and night.

That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,

which yields its fruit in season

and whose leaf does not wither—

whatever they do prospers.” Psalm 1:2,3

2 Corinthians 4:8-10

This piece was inspired by an admirable father and his three precious girls. The massive trunk and stretched out branches represent the father in his strength, steadfastness, and extended caring hands. He has three colors on him, which portray each daughter individually. Each one holds a vivid hue characterizing each one’s unique beauty, talents, and glory, seeping out onto the leaves that will fall upon those near her. She receives her gifts and splendor from being planted by the river and from her roots feeding from the waters that supply all her needs. Every good thing and the very nature of the tree comes from the waters, which pours out from God’s throne. The radiant colors throughout this piece reflect Christ in all aspects of life and the Oak of Righteousness, the splendor of the Lord.
